The following books are some of the texts a beginner should start from:

1. Zaad al-Muslim al-Yaumee (a Muslim Daily Guide) by Ash-Shaykh Abdullah bn JaariLlaah. It is for spiritual growth of every learner.

2. Al-Imaam Nawawi's Forty Collection. The book contains forty-two hadeeth that have to do with the correct belief of a Muslim as well as his acts of worship.

3. Kitaab Tauheed of Shaykhul Islam Muhammad bn Abdilwahhaab - rahimahullaah. If you can get a copy that has the sidenotes of Ash-Shaykh Ibn Al-Qaasim better.

4. Al-Aqeedah Al-Wasatiyyah of Shaykhul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah. The explanation of it by Ash-Shaykh Saalih Al-Fauzaan (hafidhahullaah) is one of the best, so short but full of benefits. Its diction is also simple.

5. Sifatus-Salaati-Nabiyy of the Two Imaams - Al-Albaanee and bn Baz (may Allaah be merciful to both) is also a good read for the beginners. Many beginners do not know the basic descriptions of the Prophet's Prayer yet they delve into issues that are beyond their grasp.

Ash-Shaykh Fahd Shuwayb has a compilation on the Prophet's Manner of Performing Ablution (Sifatu Wuduu Nabee) is also a good read.

6. Riyaad Saaliheen of Al-Imaam An-Nawawee is also one of those good books many learners often neglect. Among its good shurooh (explanations) is Nuz'ah al-Muttaqeen (of Ash-Shaykh Mustafa Saeed) and that of Al-Imaam Ibn Uthaymeen (rahmatullaah alayhi). Good that Al-Imaam Al-Albaanee did verify every hadeeth in the book, get copy that has those verifications.

7. In the science of hadeeth, Mustalah Hadeeth of Shaykh Uthaymeen is good most especially when studied alongside al-Bayqooniyyah with any of its good shurooh (one of which is that of Ash-Shaykh Alee Hasan al-Halabee, rahimahullaah, which he called at-Ta'liqaat al-Athariyyah).

8. Al-Usool Min Ilm Al-Usool is a good read on Islamic Jurisprudence. Ash-Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen - rahimahullaah - wrote it.

9. Then books of Fataawa of such scholars as Ash-Shaykh Ibn Baz, Ash-Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen, Ash-Shaykh Ibn Jibreen, Ash-Shaykh Ibn Fawzaan, (Ash-Shaykh Al-Albaanee, Ash-Shaykh Rabee, Ash-Shaykh AbdulMuhsin Abbaad, Ash-Shaykh Muqbil) and host of others.
