Ramadan Day Three
Al-Imaam Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah - rahimahullah - said the Opening Surah contains a lot of messages for the Muslims which by theme destroys all the foundations of the heretical sects as well as obliterates all forms of heresies and misguidance while it tells us the way of the righteous and devout servants of Allaah.
He said it gives the actual meaning of servitude to Allaah (al-Uboodiyyah) using Three of His Names to establish that - Allaah, ar-Rabb and Ar-Rahmaan.
He said these Three Names are the bedrock of all the Names of Allaah as well as His Lofty Attributes.
He said the Surah is therefore built on Ilaahiyyah (Divinity), Ruboobiyyah (Lordship) and Rahmah (Mercifulness) of Allaah.
He said 'Iyyaka na'bud' - 'Only You we worship' is the Ilaahiyyah. 'Wa Iyyaka nas'taeen' is the Ruboobiyyah, while seeking guidance from Allaah for the Straight Path is Rahmah.
