Ramadan Day Six

Still on al-Hidaayah...

That the highest form of Hidaayah for a Muslim that is guided is the guidance through the Bridge over the hell.

This is the Bridge where many will fall into the hell according to their deeds while some will pass over it swiftly.

This is the order: some like a lightning, some in a twinkle of an eye, some like wind, some like a horse rider, some like a person pacing, some like an ordinary walker, some would crawl. Thus many would be wounded by the kalaaleeb (curved spears) before the final destination while many would fall into the blazing fire.

It is proportionate to how one fares on the Straight Path in this world that he would fare on the Siraat over the hell. Allaah is never unjust to any.

Therefore the slave should be wary of the shubuhaat (doubts) and shahawaat (fleeting things) around him. It is these two that serve as the catalysts for the kalaaleeb that are on the both sides of the Path (whether in this world or the one to come). They drag him away from the path.

So we need to ask for Allaah's guidance all the time to attain felicity in Jannah and to be saved from the Hell.

The Straight Path has five features: Firmness, Straight to the Destination, Shorter, Wide (enough to accommodate all), and Distinctiveness.

May Allaah protect us.
