Being A Summary of the Text Prepared by Ash-Shaykh AbdurRazaaq bn Badr bn AbdilMuhsin al-‘Abaad
May Allaah preserve the son and the father upon goodness.
Abridgement by: Aboo Aamir Ishaaq b. AbdirRaheem – may Allaah forgive him and his dead parents.

All praise to Allaah the Lord of the worlds may the peace and blessing be upon the best his creation, Muhammad the son of Abdullaah.

After that:

Indeed, the soul that is located in the body of human being is precarious, its matter is profound.

Allaah indeed swore by many of His creation in Soorah Shams; the soul – with its good and evil manifestations – was one of what He swore it.

He the Mighty said:

1.  By the sun and its brightness
2.  And [by] the moon when it follows it
3.  And [by] the day when it displays it
4.  And [by] the night when it covers it
5.  And [by] the sky and He who constructed it
6.  And [by] the earth and He who spread it
7.  And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it
8.  And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness,
9.  He has succeeded who purifies it,
10.  And he has failed who instills it [with corruption].
 [Trans: Sahih International]

The Soorah implies that whoever strives towards cleansing his soul by obeying Allaah’s injunctions and doing away with His don’ts, will earn success for his soul; and vice versa.

A noble soul therefore will seek what is right and pleasing to Allaah the Mighty. It will not be unjust, sinful, avaricious, deceitful among many other vices that stem from the soul.

Purifying the soul therefore is a task every Muslim must embark on. The soul of a Muslim has a right over its possessor – that he should take care of it. taking care of it however does not mean depriving it of its normal needs.

Inshaa Allaah, we shall take the First Foundation in the coming post.
