A Counsel for My Soul (A Repost)

Originally published by me on my Facebook Wall, January 2015, I feel the need for a public opprobrium for that soul again. Becuase souls drive to evil except the one shown mercy by Allaah. This edition has seen some additions.

O my soul, fear Allaah in all your doings.

O my soul, seek the knowledge of the Deen with Ikhlaas and act with it with to the utmost. Your knowledge is zilch when you don't act with it.

O my soul, know Allaah to be One in all ramifications, worship Him and shun all Shir'k - major or minor.

O my soul, love your Prophet than any other person. Never shy to throw away anybody's saying when it contradicts what he said or did.

O my soul, shun and despise every Bid'ah and its people even if all the world praise and promote it.

No that human beings will continue to be humans, so do not stake your Deen on the way of a living fellow - no matter his status in knowledge. Ibn Mas'ud did tell you, only the dead Companions, after the Rasool, is safe to follow.

O my soul, know that none can save you from Allaah's punishment when you disobey Him, hence always strive to satisfy Him alone. Don't try to satisfy anybody to earn the anger of your Lord.

O my soul, be aware that none has any reward to offer you when you act righteously so do not they unjustly cry against you.

O my soul, be aware that you will solely be responsible for your acts on the Day of Resurrection so be watchful.

O my soul, love the Muslims, be with the Muslims but upon piety and righteousness.

O my soul, don't trouble yourself for the fleeting things of this world. Be grateful for the much you have been endowed, and take away your sight from the little you have been denied.

O my soul, fear that day you will be laid below the earth. And know that it can be any time. So be prepared always, be prepared always; with Eemaan and good deeds upon unblemished Ikhlaas. Don't be among the neglectful.

O my soul, always ask Your Lord for thabaat, for thabaat...
