Fighting the people of bid'ah intellectually is a tempo that must be sustained. The intellectual altercation between the people of Sunnah and people of Bid'ah in Yorùbá land must continue, at least, the people of bid'ah should be cut to sizes if there is going to be a ceasefire.
Therefore the loud and subtle cautions against the People of Sunnah from some People of Sunnah, perhaps those who don't understand what the battle is all about, are not necessary now.
Agreed, the matter should not be reduced to throwing of banters and tantrums, it must be decisive, resourceful and effective.
The Agege goons are feeling the heat please let them feel more of it. They need be told that bid'ah is on its way out of Yoruba land Inshaa Allaah. Their enclave is the basis of all heresies of kufr and shirk found in nook and cranny of Yoruba land. They need to be intellectually subjugated. They must be silenced.
You can see the childish counter-attacks from the Principal against Ustaadh Qamarudeen Yunus and others. So reckless and nonsensical.
May Allaah give more strength to the teachers of Sunnah, please do not relent. Your effort is not wasted. In one way or the other, some people are being liberated from the shackles of these charlatans and marabouts.
Their mission is to destroy the Sunnah in the region because they see it as the greatest threat to their means of livelihood and sham popularity.
Please let's the fight continue albeit in the best of manners but with necessary knocks on their heads. They must be given knocks on their heads and blows in their mouths intellectually though.
Our Lord the Mighty says:
يا أَيّÙهَا النَّبÙيّ٠جاهÙد٠الكÙÙّارَ وَالمÙناÙÙقينَ وَاغلÙظ عَلَيهÙÙ…
"O Prophet, strive againts the disbelievers and the hypocrites, be stern against them..."
[At-Tahrîm: 9]
The sterness against against the kuffar is killing them on the battlefield while the sterness against the hypocrites (including Ahlul Bid'ah) is using harsh words and writings against them.
The weapon is Qur'aan, Sunnah and Aqwaal Salaf.
Our Lord the Mighty says:
Ùَلا تÙØ·Ùع٠الكاÙÙرينَ وَجاهÙدهÙÙ… بÙه٠جÙهادًا كَبيرًا
"Do not follow the disbelievers, strive against them with it (that is, the Qur'aan) in a big striving."
[Al-Furqân: 52]
So it is not a child's play or something that should be treated with a kid's gloves. The efforts against the people of bid'ah ought to be concerted and all-out.
The people of bid'ah deserve no courtesy, respect and pity.
Fudayl bn Iyaad - rahimahullaah - said:
من وقر صاØب بدعة Ùقد أعان على هدم الإسلام
"Whoever honours a person of bid'ah has joined hands in the destruction of Islam." (Al-Ibaanah as-Sughraa p.64)
He also said:
اللهم لا تجعل لصاØب بدعة عندي يدا ÙÙŠØبه قلبي
"O Allaah, do not make a person of bid'ah a support for me lest my heart should love him." (Al-Ibaanah as-Sughraa p.66)
Al-Hasan al-Basree - rahimahullaah - said:
ليس لأصØاب البدع غيبة
"There is no blame of backbiting when done towards the people of bid'ah." (Al-Ibaanah as-Sughraa p.68)
Pitying them is dangerous because they don't pity the Deen of the Creator from being destroyed from their ends.
These are the people who unashamedly abuse the Companions of the Messenger of Allaah (sallallAahu alayhi wa sallam). Whoever abuses the Companions of the Messenger of Allaah has the Messenger of Allaah as his target he is just not bold enough to do that.
Sufyaan bn Uyaynah - rahimahullaah - said:
لا يغل قلب Ø£Øد على Ø£Øد من أصØاب رسول الله إلا قلبه على المسلمين أغل
"None will unleash the evil of his heart against any of the Companions except that he will harbour more evil against the rest of the Muslims." (Al-Ibaanah as-Sughraa p.69)
No wonder Habeeb Adam could lose his tongue against Shaykhul Islam Muhammad bn Abdilwahaab and other righteous scholars of the Deen.
