Abu Hurairah - radiyallaahu an'hu - reported from the Messenger of Allaah - sallallahu alayhi wa sallam - that he said:
إذا قال الرجلÙ: هلك الناس٠Ùهو أهلَكÙهم.
'When a man says: 'the people are destroyed' then he is the one more destroyed (or he is the one that destroyed them).'
Saheeh Muslim 2623.
Lessons:
When you talk to the people watch how you address them, never think the guidance with you is what you worked for, don't look down upon those still in sins, don't be prideful over them. If you are not careful, you can become more evil than them and they becoming better than you.
Perhaps you have been contributory to their misguidance because of your bad attitude and presentation. Thus that is a crime in your part.
So shun statements like 'so-and-so people are not well', 'the people have become bad', 'ayé à wá»n eyán tà bà jẹ̀, wá»n ti yanma wá»n ti taa' etc.
Be careful, you were once like them but Allaah showed His Mercy to you.
