Imaam Abu Daawud would intellectually attack Imaam Yahya bn Maeen as the latter would attack Imaam Shaafiee - in fact Imaam Yahya used to berate Imaam Ahmad for his 'boy-boy' behind Imaam Shaafiee. The list can go on.
Matters like this is not strange in the books of taraajim, only feeble people would give a hoot about that, and about similar occurrences among the scholars of Sunnah today.
Students should rather face front and get themselves busy with their learning.
Nevertheless the ghulaat must be cut to their sizes.
