This message may upset many people, especially our brothers and sisters from my second hometown, Ikire. However, it is necessary to address this issue openly.
There is a serious problem brewing in the Da’wah scene in Ikire if Abdulqawiyy continues with these dangerous and misguided exploits. He has become increasingly reckless in twisting the Usool (principles) and Qawaa’id al-Fiqh (legal maxims). Gross misapplication of foundational principles has become his hallmark.
This dangerous trend did not start recently. I have consistently drawn the attention of his elder brothers, who are my peers, to his questionable methods.
As for him, I had always called him out. He almost 'slapped' me from behind his keyboard one time over an issue on X app. He and one Dr Oni are fattaanaani on that app.
Abdulqawiyy seems to believe that his privilege of studying at Jaami’ah Islamiyyah in Madinah gives him the authority to dismiss those of us back home—whom were his mentors in the Sunnah in those years—as ignorant meddlers in matters of the Deen.
So now, we are all ignoramuses because we called out Yasir Qadhi?
Indeed, Ikhwaaniyyah is a dangerous menace.
You claim that Yasir Qadhi’s dismissal of the possibility that Ya’juj and Ma’juj are still entrapped is a matter of Ijtihaad and that he cannot be criticized for it. You argue that Yasir, having studied Hadith (though only at the undergraduate level), has the ahliyyah (authority) to make rulings on the Hadith concerning Ya’juj and Ma’juj.
Ikire folks, are you watching this unfold without taking action?
Abdulqawiyy, what Ijtihaad applies to the authentic and widely accepted Hadith narrated by our mother, Aishah as-Siddeeqah (may Allah be pleased with her)?
"The Prophet ﷺ woke up from sleep, his face flushed, and said: 'There is no deity except Allah. Woe to the Arabs from an evil that has drawn near. Today, a breach like this has been opened in the barrier of Ya’juj and Ma’juj,' and Sufyan (the narrator) gestured with his fingers, indicating the size of the breach. It was said, 'Will we be destroyed even though there are righteous people among us?' He replied, 'Yes, if wickedness becomes widespread.'"
Dr. Abdulqawiyy, mujtahid aakhiruliz-zamaan, kindly explain which Ijtihaad applies to such a clear and explicit Hadith.
Hadith of Bukhari and Muslim fa...
You foolishly asked, “Show me any scholar who said Ya’juj and Ma’juj are still entrapped!”
Either you have lost your senses, or your blind defense of that deviant has clouded your reasoning.
Partisanship is indeed a disease.
You even questioned whether the entrapment of Ya’juj and Ma’juj is mentioned in books of Aqeedah! How can you ignore the explicit nass of the Qur’an and Sunnah?
The Qur’an states:
حَتَّىٰ إِذَا فُتِحَتۡ یَأۡجُوجُ وَمَأۡجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبࣲ یَنسِلُونَ
"Until, when Ya’juj and Ma’juj are let loose (from their barrier), and they swiftly swarm from every hill."
(Surah Al-Anbiya, 21:96)
Perhaps you, Onikun kewu, should explain this verse to us.
Fear kufr, Abdulqawiyy. May Allah save me and you from it.
Stop blindly defending Yasir Qadhi.
You asked, “Who preceded us in declaring Yasir as a deviant?”
In which matter, Abdulqawiyy? Yasir Qadhi has openly uttered statements that undermine the very fundamentals of the Deen. Should we wait until he destroys the community before speaking out?
The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever among you sees an evil should change it with his hand. If he cannot, then with his tongue. And if he cannot, then with his heart..."
Yasir Qadhi has a big chunk of such evil.
See this for yourself.
You claimed Yasir has done good for Islam, especially in the US. Is that what gave him the audacity to attack the Aqeedah of Muslims?
Did you hear him say that if Umar ibn Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) were alive today, he would fail many of the Aqeedah tests? Or will you deny that too?
You mentioned Yasir’s supposed goodness. Please enlighten us on this goodness that justifies his destructive statements about the riwaayaat of the Qur’an, where he claimed they cause doubts and serve as evidence that the Qur’an was not well-preserved.
You surreptitiously compared Yasir to great scholars like Ibn Hajar and An-Nawawi. Is this not a blatant exaggeration?
You said Yasir is a person of Sunnah. Till what stage. In his life? Indeed, he himself admitted that after studying at Yale, his thinking began to change.
Like that misguided figure, Osiofit, of Hadmus Sunnah, you see no issue with Yaasir criticizing Imam Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahhab (rahimahullah). You argue that Yasir has the right to critique him. Yasir, in what capacity? In which matters?
Sana’ani and Siddiq Hasan Khan criticized Imam Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahhab in their time, you said. Does this mean Yasir is on their level?
Abdulqawiyy, you have ventured far down a dangerous path. May Allah guide you back before you become completely lost.
To the people of Ikire, call your son to order.
May Allaah save me, Abdulqawiyy and the rest of the Muslims from atubotan buruku.
