  The Pure Salafee Path
[a poem with annotations]

This is As-Salafiyyah An-Naqiyyah (1)
The pristine Islaam far from Soofiyyah

Ath-Thamar Al-Mustataab of Al-Itbaa
’ (2)
TammāmulMinnah
from An-Nāsir (3),
Jallā'u
of our afhaam (4).

Seek refuge in Allaah from shaytaanirajeem
Strive to adhere to siraatilmustaqēm (5),
Abandon the path of ashaabiljaheem (6),
By leaning on the blessed kitaabuttawheed (7),
Learning usool at-thalaathah from at-tamheed (8)

AlhamduliLlaah, for the Silsilah of sihhah (9),
Arming us with another Silsilah from di'ifah (10),
Honour us with Al-Hilyah (11),
And this year Udhhiyah (12)

Glory to the Owner of al-Bidaayah (13),
Al-Faatir of all things with no Nihaayah (13)
For His Mercy like Sayl Al-Jarraar (14),
Recording our names in As-Siyaar (15),
Saving us from zajaratus-sufaa'a (16).

We are in rawdatu-mmuhibbeen (17),
Treading on minhaajussaalikeen (18),
Heading to riyaadussaaliheen (19),
This is succinct tanbeeh to ghaafileen (20),
Oh Allah, place us in rawdatuttaalibeen (21)

Annotations:
1) As-Salafiyyah An-Naqiyyah wa barraa’tuhaa minal ‘Amal Ar-Radiyyah (Pristine Salafiyyah And Freeing it From The Demeaning Deeds) is a treatise written by Ash-Shaykh Mashoor bn Hasan AalSalmaanAboo ‘Ubaydah. It was written to answer a question on an ugly occurrence and false attribution to Salafiyah in Jordan.

2) Ath-Thamar Al Mustataab (The Sweetened Fruit) is an authentic evidence-based book of fiqh written by Ash Shaykh Naasiruddeen Al-Albaanee (rahimahuLlaah). It is in two volumes and incomplete.

3) Tammamu Al-Minnah (The Completion of Blessing) is a note on the classification of the narrations, correction of opinions and references in Fiqh-Us-Sunnah complied by Sayyid Saabiq. The scholars recommend the book for the student with the latter, for indeed, it is a completion of Fiqh-us-Sunnah.

4) Jallaau Al-Afhaam fee Salaati Khayril Anaam (Brightening the Comprehension about Seeking Blessing upon the Best of Creation) contains almost all necessary issues on seeking blessing upon the Prophet - sallaLlaahu ‘alayhiwasallam. The compiler mentioned forty benefits in seeking blessing upon the Prophet - sallaLlaahu ‘alayhiwasallam - once. It is indeed beneficial. It was compiled by Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah and verified by Shaykh Mashoor Hasan AalSalmaan.

5/6) IqtidaauSiraatil-MustaqeemlilMukhaalafahAshaabil-Jaheem (Adhering to The Straight Path (and) Disassociation from The People Of Hell) is a book on the festivals and contradicting the specific deeds known with the unbelievers. It was written by Shaykhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah and Shaykh Saalih Al ‘Uthaymeen did its Sharh, likewise Naasir bn ‘Abdil-Kareem Al ‘Aql verified it in two volumes.

7) Kitaabut-Tawheed (The book of Islamic Monotheism) is written by Ash Shaykh Al Mujaddid Muhammad bn AbdilWahhaab. It really wards off and refutes kufr act and ideologies. It has many explanations like, Al-Qawlu As-Sadeed by Naasiruddeen As-Sa’dee, Fat’hul Al-Majeed by Shaykh Ibn Baaz, Al-Qawlu Mufeed by Shaykh Saalih Al-Uthaymeen and ‘Inaayah Mustafeed by Shaykh Saalih Al-Fawzaan.

8) Usoolath-Thalaathah (Three Fundamental Principles) was also written by Al Mujaddid. The book is indeed small but mighty. It contains the issues of our resting place. The book was explained by Ash Shaykh Saalih Al-Uthaymeen; Sharhu Usool Ath-Thalaathah. Ash-Shaykh Zayd bn Muhammad Al-Madhkhalee: Tareequ Al-WusoolilaaIdhaahiath-Thalaath Al Usool, and Shaykh Saalih Al-Fawzaan.

9) Silsilatu Ahaadeeth as-Saheehah (The chain of authentic narrations) is a book of seven volumes; each volume contains 500 authentic narrations according to his gradation.

10) Silsilatu Ahaadeeth Da’eefah (The chain of weak and fabricated narrations) is a book of 15 volumes; each volume contains 500 weak and fabricated narrations. The Shaykh dictated the end of 14th vol. and 15th vol. to his children, grandchildren and other than them on sick bed. This shows the precision and scholarship of the Shaykh. Oh Allah! Cover the Shaykh with mercy and forgiveness. Both Silsilah of Ash-Shaykh Muhammad NaasirudDeen are also called As-Silsilatayn by the scholars.

11) Hilyatu Al-Awliyaa (The Adornment of The Allies of Allaah) is a biographical sketch of the companions and their students. It contains many spurious narrations and attribution of the companions (like Aboo Bakr) to mystic. The Shaykh indeed rendered the trust of knowledge by mentioning the chains of narrations in full. It was written by Aboo Nu’aym Al-Asfahaanee and it has a summary in which the spurious, repeated narrations and mystism was edited from it. There is another Hilyatu Taalibil-Ilm (The Adornment of The Seekers of Knowledge) written by Ash Shaykh Bakr bn Abee Zayd and explained by Shaykh Saalih Al ‘Uthaymeen.

12) Udhiyyah is a sacrificial beast slaughtered for Allaah alone at the time of duhaa. It was mentioned for dating sake [in an opinion]. The poem was composed in the last day of tashreeq 1439A.H.

13) Al Bidaayah wa An-Nihaayah (The Book of The Beginning and The End) is an historical encyclopaedia written by Al Haafidh Ibn Katheer. It contains the history from the beginning of creation to his epoch and ended it with “The book of Trials and Tribulations” (Kitaabul Fitan wa Al-Malaahim).

14) As-Sayl Al-Jarrar (The Huge Flowing Torrent) is an explanation of Hadaaiq Al Azhaar; a book on Islamic Jurisprudence.

15) Siyaar (also Seerah as mentioned by Shaykh Al-Arnaoot in his introduction of the book) ‘Alaam Nubalaa (The Biography of The Noble Scholars) was written by Al-Imaam Adh-Dhahabee). It is of 25 volumes; a volume on Prophet’s biography, a volume for the four rightly guided successors and other volumes for the rest of the companions and their students. The book is not for criticism and endorsement (As mentioned by Ash-Shaykh Ar-Raslaan in Ad-Daaim) as it contains the story of Ibn Abee Du’aad, Bisree Al-Mareesee and others.

16) ZajaratusSufahaa’ ‘An Tatabi’ Rukhsah Al-Fuqahaa (Rebuffing the Fools on Blindly Following the Cheap Authorization of the Jurists) is a treatise written by Ash-Shaykh Jaasim Ad-Dawsree to correct the fatwa shoppers; who only follow the verdict that suit their whims from any scholar. Example IkhwaanulMuslimeen, they cite Al-Albaanee, Al-Uthaymeen and others but reject their verdicts on protest and disparage remarks on Sayyid Qutub.

17) Rawdah Al Muhibbeen (The Garden of The Affectionate) is a book on love, emotion and passion especially between couple. It contains interesting love stories among the salaf. It was written by AbulFarjIbnQayyim Al-Jawzee.

19) RiyaadusSaaliheen (The Garden of The Righteous) is a book of narration compiled by AbooZakariyyaMuhyiddeen An-Nawaawee. He commenced the book with Chapter of Sincerity and closed it up with chapter of Seeking Forgiveness, which means an individual should be sincere at the beginning of his deed and end it with seeking forgiveness. The book is blessed such that there is no mosque in any part of the world except that you find it there. Ash-Shaykh Naasiruddeen Al-Albaanee verified it, Ash-Shaykh Al-Uthaymeen explained it, likewise Faysal bnAbdil ‘Azeez wrote TatreezRiyaadusSaaliheen.

20) Tanbeehu Al-Ghaafileen (Reminder for The Heedless) is a book on heart softening issues written by AbooLayth As-Sarmaqandee. The book is more or less a fable; Al ImaamShamsudeenAdh-Dhahabee disparaged it in As-Siyaar, Shaykh Mashoor included it in KutubHadharMinhaa Al ‘Ulamaa and verifiers of Tafseer Al Qurtubee mentioned the likes in the footnote of AlJaami’ Al Ahkaam (Mu’asisahAr-Risaalah print).

21) RawdatutTaalibeen (Garden of the Seekers of Knowledge) is a book of fiqh written by AbooZakariyya An-Nawaawee.

The names of the books coined poetically were translated in other to understand the meaning of each line. We seek blessing on Nabiyy Muhammad sallaLlaahu ‘alayhiwasallam.
