Allaah the Mighty Lord in His Infinite Wisdom sometimes allows evil to thrive faster than righteousness to test the believers and to beguile the evildoers. Evils often spread faster while forsaking righteousness may lead to its death. Therefore, we are urged to shun evil and imbibe more good. If one starts an evildoing today, it might spread more than one has envisaged, and if one abandons an act of righteousness, we may never come to terms with it again.
Al-Imaam Ibn Battah wrote in al-Ibaanah al-Kubraa [1/227] that Abdullaah bn Amr said:
“No heresy is introduced [in the Deen] except that it increases in spread, and no Sunnah is removed except that it increases in disappearance [from the midst of the Muslims].â€
Allaah’s aid is sought.
