Bismillaahir-Rahmaanir-Raheem
Brothers, in this matter, nobody should see himself or herself as a saint. We need to be prayerful and careful lest we render our deeds null and void while we know not.
Ash-Shaykh Rabee al-Madkhalee - hafidhahullaah - supplicated and sounded the last warning to everyone of us who claim to follow the Sunnah nay Salafiyyah:
نسأل الله أن يجعلنا وإياكم من هذه النوعيات المنصÙØ© الباØثة عن الØÙ‚ØŒ البعيدة عن الهوى وعن أساليب الجاهلية
Ùالذي يلزمنا معشر الإخوة أن Ù†Ùتش أنÙسنا Ùمن وجد ÙÙŠ Ù†Ùسه شيئا من هذا المرض Ùعليه أن يتدارك Ù†Ùسه ويقبل على العلاج الناجع ويبØØ« دائما عن الØÙ‚ لينجو بنÙسه من وهدة التعصب الأعمى الذي قد يؤدي إلى الشرك بالله تبارك وتعالى أو يؤدي إلى الضلال الخطير
'We beseech Allaah that He should make us and you from those who have this quality of balance (from Al-Imaam Ash-Shaafi'ee) that desires the truth (even if it is from the opponent); a quality far away from self-desires and methodologies of Jaahiliyyah.
What is imperative upon us, O brothers, is that we should check ourselves. Whoever finds any semblance of this sickness (of Ta'assub) in him should call himself to order and look for the sound cure by searching for the truth always so as to save himself from the shackles of blind bigotry that can lead one to associating partners with Allaah the Mighty and Sublimest, or that can lead to sordid misguidance.'
