I have been following the somewhat distant discussion between Dr Imran Eleha -may Allaah protect him - and some adherents of Ifá Kufr concerning the connection between Ifá and its roots in Arabian geomancy (ʿIlm ar-Raml).
Dr Imran Eleha has done considerable justice to the matter, while many of his opponents from the Ifá fraternity have, quite frankly, been doing little more than blabbing.
I have observed that many of the Ifá bigwigs, such as Elbuibon and some of his prominent pupils, have been conspicuously avoiding the subject.
One of them that came out on TikTok to respond to Dr Imran only shot himself in the leg more. He challenged Dr Imran to prove the existence of certain odus in the Arabian geomancy. He agreed there is a 16 binary stuff that combines the two but that the divination done on sand is different from the one done with ikin, perhaps he has forgotten that his people used sand too sometimes. He then went on mentioning certain Arabian names where he unknowingly further nailed himself.
(All of it is kufr and shrik, please take note. So don't be deceived by some individuals in Muslim garb that engage in this geomancy of a thing. We have a lot of them in Africa including Yorubaland).
There appears to be a palpable fear among them that if, after all, Pa Ọ̀rúnmìlà (assuming he actually existed, since Yoruba antiquity lacks sufficiently reliable historical records) had indeed borrowed from Arabian geomancy, that would spell the end of the useless Yorubanism that some alátẹ̀nújẹ́ have been promoting in recent times.
The fact that the Ifá people advanced some sixteen tetragrams into 256 Odù, filled with largely baseless tales, some of which even bear Muslim nuances, is hardly a mere coincidence.
Furthermore, the supposed Yoruba origin from Makkah (which they hate to mention but which the present Oni of Ifè has mentioned severally of recent) would receive further reinforcement.
In other words, it would mean that without the kuffār Arabs, there was no Ọ̀rúnmìlà!
O má ṣe o.

Please note that there is nothing like Islamic geomancy, the writer above mixed it up with Arabian geomancy which Islam stands against head to toe.

Please, let the discussion continue.
On this particular matter (emphasis intended), Dr Imran is on course.
I have put this together as a synopsis for a possible academic paper.
However, please stay away from all forms of geomancy, whether African, Chinese, Indian or Arabian. They are all forms of kufr.
