O brethren, why do people leave islaam today in our society? We have seen spouses, children and parents who have left Islaam. Whosoever leaves Islaam, Allaah says he will spoil his deeds in this world and in the Hereafter. Those of you that have left the religion of Islaam and those who are yet to embrace Islaam should come back else your deeds will be spoilt.
وَمَن يَرْتَدِدْ مِنكُمْ عَن دِينِهِ فَيَمُتْ وَهُوَ كَافِرٌ
فَأُولَٰئِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ
وَأُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
"...and whosoever of you turns back from his religion and dies as a disbeliever, then his deeds will be lost in this life and in the Hereafter, and they will be the dwellers of the Fire. They will abide therein forever."
What I said is in the Qur'an, the non Muslim reading this should go and read what your Creator said, you that were once a Muslim should revert to Islaam.
As a Muslim, you should know that Islaam is the only religion you can find salvation and all your goodness. Do not leave islaam.
Saying "only heaven knows the successful' is balderdash, Allaah - who created Heaven and Earth - says whosoever dies without being a Muslim will be thrown into the fire. May Allaah not make us inmates of fire.
Causes of Apostasy
O brethren, what are the causes of apostasy so that we can note them?
The first is ignorance about Allaah and His religion - Islaam. The one who knows Allaah is mighty and is the One who created everything, knowing His Mightiness will not make one leave Islaam. The person who does not know Allaah will leave Islaam.
Secondly, the false and evil Ideology being spread by the westerners that there is freedom of religion and that one is free to choose any religion he so desires because no one knows what is in the heaven and whatever you believe is your religion. This ideology has really affected the educated people (in our society).
The third is inter faith marriage. Marrying someone who practices another religion may lead one to leave islaam.
And Allaah warned us in the Qur'aan in Surah Al-Baqara, Verse 221:
وَلَا تَنكِحُوا الْمُشْرِكَاتِ حَتَّىٰ يُؤْمِنَّ وَلَأَمَةٌ
مُّؤْمِنَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِّن مُّشْرِكَةٍ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَتْكُمْ وَلَا
تُنكِحُوا الْمُشْرِكِينَ حَتَّىٰ يُؤْمِنُوا وَلَعَبْدٌ مُّؤْمِنٌ
خَيْرٌ مِّن مُّشْرِكٍ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكُمْ أُولَٰئِكَ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى
النَّارِ وَاللَّهُ يَدْعُو إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَالْمَغْفِرَةِ بِإِذْنِهِ
وَيُبَيِّنُ آيَاتِهِ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
And do not marry Al-Mushrikat (idolatresses, etc.) till they believe (worship Allah Alone). And indeed a slave woman who believes is better than a (free) Mushrikah (idolatress, etc.), even though she pleases you. And give not (your daughters) in marriage to Al-Mushrikun till they believe (in Allah Alone) and verily, a believing slave is better than a (free) Mushrik (idolater, etc.), even though he pleases you. Those (Al-Mushrikun) invite you to the Fire, but Allah invites (you) to Paradise and Forgiveness by His Leave, and makes His Ayat (proofs,evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) clear to mankind that they may remember.
Allaah also says in that same verse that you must not marry out your female daughter to idol-worshippers. If your daughter should marry a non-Muslim she would later become a non-Muslim and you the father is the cause of your daughter being in hell (by marrying her off to a non-Muslim).
The best for you is to repent.
Allaah says at the end of the above verse; "Those (Al-Mushrikun) invite you to the Fire, but Allah invites (you) to Paradise and Forgiveness by His leave."
Those people saying a woman does not have a religion, How? The religion of a woman is Islaam.
Also among what makes people leave Islaam is the negligent attitude of parents towards the religion of their children from childhood.
A parent who only concentrates on food, clothing e.t.c. of their children; such children might later leave Islam.
If a child does not know the meaning of Islaam, he may later leave islaam.
Fourthly, enrolling children in non-Muslim schools is another cause.
Its better for us to ponder on it and we should not use our hands to buy what will destroy us.
The best thing for you is to withdraw your children from schools that would make them leave Islaam. The best thing is for you is not to enroll your children in such schools.
What your child came to do in this world is Islaam, all other things are secondary which would assist your children to practice Islaam.
Being totally independent in this world is the fifth cause of apostasy. The one who wants to be totally free, eats what he likes, drinks what he likes, wears what he likes, behaves as he likes (without any restriction from Allaah).
The one who is not a muslim can do what he likes.
Islaam sets specific boundaries for us in order to safeguard us from evils that could arise from such things. But the one who says he is not a Muslim will find it easy to drink alcohol, eat pork which is one of the reasons some people left Islaam by saying "Islaam restricts them not to do some things".
Lastly, tribulation is one of the reasons people leave Islaam. O brethren, let me tell you Allaah has made us know that he would try us. Allaah says "And We will surely test you with something of..." Allaah will try everyone irrespective of his religion.
See, if you want to leave islaam because of money, there are lot of poor people in that religion you want to embrace. If you leave Islaam because of illness, there are lot of bedridden people in that religion you want to embrace. If you want to leave Islam because of promotion, there are lot of degraded people in that religion.
Islaam is the religion of Allaah, worship Allaah and direct your worldly affairs with Islam.
