A very dangerous thought rampaging the minds of some online Isese protagonists who claim to be Muslims is the slogan 'I am Yoruba then a Muslim.' The thought is being sold to unsuspecting or ignorant Yoruba Muslims.
This saying of being a Yoruba before being a Muslim is meant to make the ill-witted Muslims to pass off the idolatory practices of Isese as nothing. So also to make agitation for it.
These weak Muslims, many of whom claim to be educated, should be told that one of what destroys a person's Islam is permitting any aspect of beliefs of the non-Muslims. Al-Imaam Muhammad bn Abdulwahab (Allaah's mercy on him) declared it so in his 'Ten Nullifiers of Islam'.
So those Muslims are warned to desist from such thought.
Islam comes first in everything we do. It defines our choice of work, marriage, education, and other mundane activities, etc.
The values of Islam are superior to other values because they are divine while those others are terrestial.
Islam reprobates other thoughts, other thoughts cannot reprobate Islam. Islam is perfect (though the Muslims are not), no other idea or though is perfect. You can all see the havoc democracy is wreaking world over. Even the chauvinists of those mundane thoughts like democracy are tired of them themselves.
Islam is the groundnorm of a Muslim's life, and it touches all the facets of his life to the extent of how to ease oneself in the restroom.
Allaah says in the Qur'aan:
'O you who believe! Enter perfectly in Islam (by obeying all the rules and regulations of the Islamic religion) and follow not the footsteps of Shaitan (Satan). Verily! He is to you a plain enemy.' Q2:208
So whoever wants to be a Muslim should do so to the utmost, and whoever wants to be a Kaafir (disbeliever), should do so with all his chest. Staying in-between is nifaaq (hypocrisy), and a great torment, greater than that of the disbelievers await the people of nifaaq. Allaah says in Surah Baqarah:
'137. Verily, those who believe, then disbelieve, then believe (again), and (again) disbelieve, and go on increasing in disbelief; Allah will not forgive them, nor guide them on the (Right) Way.
138. Give to the hypocrites the tidings that there is for them a painful torment.
139. Those who take disbelievers for Auliya’ (protectors or helpers or friends) instead of believers, do they seek honour, power and glory with them? Verily, then to Allah belongs all honour, power and glory.'
There is nothing like half-Islam half-kufr. Those who say they are three-in-one (like the Chrislamherb or what) are as good as nothing-in-three. It is sheer unbelief.
One of the crimes of the munaafiqooon (hypocrites) in the earlier verses is that they take the disbelievers in Allaah and His Messenger as friends. This is what some 'Muslims' on the social media do. today.
'And when it is said to them (hypocrites): “Believe as the people (followers of Muhammad Peace be upon him , Al-Ansar and Al-Muhajirun) have believed,†they say: “Shall we believe as the fools have believed?†Verily, they are the fools, but they know not.
And when they meet those who believe, they say: “We believe,†but when they are alone with their Shayatin (devils – polytheists, hypocrites, etc.), they say: “Truly, we are with you; verily, we were but mocking.†Q2, 13-14
You will never see them angry when any of the Islamic values is derided but they will cry when idolatory practices are criticised.
Allaah says in the Qur'aan:
'And when Allah Alone is mentioned, the hearts of those who believe not in the Hereafter are filled with disgust (from the Oneness of Allah) and when those (whom they obey or worship) besides Him [like all false deities other than Allah, it may be a Messenger like ‘Iesa (Jesus) – son of Maryam (Mary), ‘Uzair (Ezra), an angel, a pious man, a jinn, or any other creature even idols, graves of religious people, saints, priests, monks, etc.] are mentioned, behold, they rejoice!' Q39:45
This is nifaaq, a pure one. May Allaah save us from it.
So the end result of people like this is the fire, below the kuffaar. Allaah the Mighty said:
'Verily, the hyprocrites will be in the lowest depths (grade) of the Fire; no helper will you find for them.' Q4:145
So make your choice in this matter but don't say you were not warned.
