Mouridiyyah is the only Sufi order founded by a Senegalese, Ahmoudou Bamba (died 1927), a resident of Touba, which now hosts an annual Magal of esoteric and bombastic Sufi jamboree.

Baye Fall is now the leading sub divisions of the Mouridiyyah founded by a devoted disciple of Ahmodou Bamba, Ibra Fall.

The devotees of Baye Faal are those people you see with dreadlocks under tattered cloths making Baye Fall chants in despicable manners.

They say they don't observe Salat or fast in Ramadan, they work and work on farms to prepare for their annual Magal where they share free meals with others. Their 'modern' members come home from Europe and America for the annual festival.

They are about 5 millions members. Their leaders command absolute respect among their followers and they play some political influence. They were very influential in the last Senegalese General Elections.

In Senegal about 95 per cent of the population belong to one of the four Sufi Orders. Tijaaniyyah Sect is among the leading orders there, you remember their annual celebrations at Khaolaq.

Sunnah in Senegal is like a foreign religion.

Please if you see any person of Sunnah in Senegal, help extend our Salaam to him.
