If you are angry that some people spent millions of naira to carry out the hajj because you are hungry, your country is broke, life is not easy...what...what, please take it easy.
it is hard to see cities without hungry people. Even there are homeless (hungry) people in America and Europe who scavenge thrown-away cans and left-overs to feed.
You see this wealth, it is Allaah that distributes it because He owns every kobo and pence. He owns it and everything will go back to Him.
If your country is broke it does not mean everybody there is broke. May Allaah bring out your country from 'brokenness'.
So stop saying the rich are lavishing their wealth on hajj (and Umrah). It is their wealth not yours.
So far the rich give out Zakah of their wealth, they are free to use the rest of the wealth in the halal ways.
From the day-one, Hajj and Umrah had been for those who have the wherewithal. The poor will not be asked why they didn't do hajj or Umrah on the Day of Resurrection but the rich would be asked.
Allaah even attached a mild disbelief to whoever fails to perform the hajj when he has the means thereof. He who denies the obligation of the hajj is a kaafir outright whether he is rich or poor. So those of you saying let's stop hajj for this-and-that reason should be careful of becoming kuffar.
Some of you say why must so-and-so people go to hajj every year?
The answer is won fi jọ àwọn Salaf kan ni (they have exemplars in some Salaf).
Saeed bn Al-Musayyib - the best among the Taabioon - did about forty hajj - from Madeenah, and host of others.
You see, you have to stop this hasad - envy. You will get a heartburn and no doctor will be able to treat you.
Shaytaan whispers to some of them, 'stop going to hajj and Umrah, you are just boosting the Saudi economy!' That is an evil mindset.
The secret is that Nabee Ibrahim - alayhi salaam - prayed for Makkah for blessing and Allaah blessed it (as our Prophet - sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) prayed for Madeenah. Makkah will ever remain blessed even if the economy of the world crumbles.
You can continue to stand in the way of a Prophet's prayer that has been granted. It is your choice.
Our friend, please stop this mentality.
Work hard, pray hard. If Allaah gives you wealth, because it is only He that can give you, please go to hajj and umrah o.
If you go there just one time you will always want to go again and again.
O Allaah, invite this Your slave to Your Sacred House soonest.
