The Story of A Jew's Journey into Islaam
Translation: Aboo Aamir Ishaaq b. AbdurRaheem
'Auf b.Zuraarah narrated from Abdullaah b. Salaam (the Jew) that he said when the Messenger of Allah - sallallaahu alahyi wá sallam - arrived in Madeenah and the people thronged him, I was among those who thronged him. When I saw his face, I knew at once that he did not look like a liar. The first thing I heard from him was:
?? ???? ????? ???? ?????? ??????? ?????? ????? ??????? ????? ?????? ?????? ???? ?????? ????? ?????
'O people, spread the greetings of peace, give food (to the needy), join ties of kinship, pray at night while the people are asleep; you will enter the Paradise with peace.'
Recorded by Ahmad, Trimidhi, Ibn Maajah and Al-Haakim. Al-Imaam Al-Albaanee graded it saheeh in saheeh at-tirmidhi and at-Targheeb wa at-Tarheeb.
Abdullaah b.Salaam accepted Islam that day. He was later denounced and despised by the rest of the Jews despite their own secret confession that Prophet Muhammad - sallallaahu alahyi wa sallam - was a true Prophet of Allaah.
