Many Muslims today do exhibit a trait of super-intelligence whereby they tend to be too inquisitive about other people's affairs. They don't get satisfied by little explanations from trustworthy Muslims. They ask and ask until they land in trouble.
The Messenger of Allaah - sallallahu alayhi wa sallam - told us that we should believe our brothers when they narrate their affairs to us. Unless we have strong proofs against a Muslim brother's narration, the basis is to accept it.
On the authority of Aboo Hurairah - radiyallahu anhu, the Messenger of Allaah - sallallahu alayhi wa sallam - said:
المؤمن٠غÙرٌّ كريمٌ، والÙاجر٠خÙبٌّ لئيمٌ
'The believer is honourably gullible (about his other Muslim brethren) while the wicked sinner is deceptively depraved.' (Saheeh Sunan Abee Daawud: 479)
We are all in this, may Allaah protect us.
