The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
مَا بَيْنَ بَيْتِي وَمِنْبَرِي رَوْضَةٌ مِنْ رِيَاضِ الْجَنَّةِ، وَمِنْبَرِي عَلَى حَوْضِي
“That which is between my house and my pulpit is a garden from the gardens of Paradise, and my pulpit is upon my cistern.”
Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, no. 1391. The hadeeth is also narrated by al-Bukhārī.
Regarding the meaning of “a garden from the gardens of Paradise” (رَوْضَةٌ مِنْ رِيَاضِ الْجَنَّةِ), al-Imām an-Nawawī رحمه الله mentioned two interpretations:
One: That the very spot itself will be transferred to Paradise in the Hereafter.
Two: That acts of worship performed there are a means leading to Paradise.
Al-Imām an-Nawawī رحمه الله said:
ذَكَرُوا فِي مَعْنَاهُ قَوْلَيْنِ: أَحَدُهُمَا أَنَّ ذَلِكَ الْمَوْضِعَ بِعَيْنِهِ يُنْقَلُ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ، وَالثَّانِي أَنَّ الْعِبَادَةَ فِيهِ تُؤَدِّي إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ.
