RIGHTS OF NEIGHBOUR

From the rights is the rights of the neighbours, be attentive to making sure you fulfil these to them, and also to hastening  towards making good relations with them by giving them salaam (greetings) and being cheerful to them, and be concerned about making sure that your neighbour is safe in the least of conditions, from any harm from you and your children, and the station which comes after this is the station of kindness towards the neighbour through smiling, show of cheerfulness at his sight, goodly words, having plain disposition towards him, presenting him with gifts; because gifting the neighbour has came in a number of hadith so emphatically that the prophet —Allah raise his rank and grant him peace— gave ruling to Aa’isha —Allah be pleased with her— over two of her neighbours, she said: “to which of them should I give present?” the prophet said: “to the one whose door is closest to you" – (Sahih Al-Bukhaari: 2259)

And gifting the neighbour with presents even if it is something insignificant, like food cooked in excess then you give some out to your neighbour, and when the neighbour realizes your honour/regard for him, he will most times be satisfied by merely your gesture, supplement kindness with giving him charity whenever he is in need and you have the ability to.
