You might have arrived a stage in learning where you don't gain much again from your teachers, in terms of knowledge, in fact you might have surpassed the knowledge of your teachers in some areas, nevertheless don't stay away from the lessons of your teachers.
The aim of attending lessons of teachers transcends acquiring just knowledge, studying the character of teachers and trying to emulate them is one of the goods aims of attending their lessons.
Al-Imaam as-Sam'aanee (rahmatullaah alayhi) mentioned that about five thousand people used to attend the sittings of Al-Imaam Ahmad (rahimahullaah), five hundred of whom would be writing down lessons while the rest would watch his character and manners. (Siyar: 11/316)
Aboo Bakr al-Mutawi'ee said: 'I attended the lessons of Abu Abdillaah (Al-Imaam Ahmad) for twelve years while teaching his children the Musnad, I didn't use to write rather I would watch his character and manners.' (Siyar: 11/316)
One also can learn from the good character of other people who attend a teacher's lesson.
Also in this vein, it is good that learners should not refrain from visiting the scholars. This is usually beneficial to the learners.
Your teacher requires that you honour him, and one of the ways you can do that is to essentially visit him. Check his well-being, visit him when he is sick or follow his janaazah when he dies.
When, as a student, you come to notice that your teacher is feeling bad towards you for not visiting him, hasten to carry out that visit and offer him excuses.
Students who look after the well-being of their teachers are better than those who do not.
