Ibn Al-Mubaarak - rahimahullah - said: 'The intelligent people do not feel safe from four things:
1. A past sìn which what the Mighty Lord could still do with it is not known.
2. What remains of one's lifetime, which what's there of destruction (to the faith) is not known.
3. A honour bestowed upon a slave which he doesn't know perhaps it is a ploy and game (against him).
4. A (life) of misguidance that he thinks is guidance; because a corruption that befalls the soul in an hour can make a man lose his Deen while he doesn't know.'
