Allaah the Mighty Lord said:
O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allâh as bearers of witness with justice; and let not the hatred of some people prevent you from being just. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Well-Acquainted with what you do." Qur'aan 5 vs 8
O you who have believed in what you have been commanded to believe—fulfill the requirements of your faith by being upright for Allah, bearing witness with justice. Let your outward and inward actions actively uphold justice. Let this stand be purely for the sake of Allah, not for any worldly motive. Your intention must be justice—that is, fairness without excess or negligence, in both speech and action, whether toward someone near or far, friend or enemy.
"And do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just", meaning: do not let your dislike for a group lead you to abandon justice, as is the way of those who lack fairness or equity. Rather, just as you testify for your ally, you must testify against him if necessary; and just as you testify against your enemy, you must testify for him if the truth is on his side—even if he is a disbeliever or an innovator. Justice must be given to him, and the truth must be accepted from him, not because he said it, but because it is the truth. And rejecting the truth due to who says it is an injustice toward the truth itself.
"Be just—it is nearer to righteousness"—meaning: the more you strive to uphold justice and work toward it, the closer your hearts draw to piety. And when justice is fully realized, righteousness is perfected.
"And fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is All-Aware of what you do"—He will recompense you for your deeds, both good and bad, small and great, in this life and the next.' End of Qoute.
