AN – NASEEHAH TO THE UMMAH CONCERNING JAMAL KASHOGGI’S DISSAPPEARANCE
Speaker: Dr Sharafuddeen Gbadebo Raaji (Ogbomoso, Nigeria)
Date: 24/10/2018.
Question:
To what extent can we throw jibes at the Muslim rulers as a result of what we conceive as their misdoings and errors? Are we to throw such jibes at them or keep silent since there has been uproar on the incidence of the current global happening which some people have used to deride the Saudi government over Kashoggi’s murder.
Answer: Jamal Kashoggi was a senior Saudi Journalist working and an editor for prominent Saudi media houses such as Jareedatul watan. With the current political wave and reforms in the country and as he is not comfortable with the steps taken by the people likely to lead the kingdom eventually, he went into a self-imposed exile in the United States of America where he works as a columnist for the Washington Post media house. His writings hammer mostly on no other than anti-Saudi government writings. He has been on this since long ago and his writings has a wider coverage in several countries although he only writes for the Washington Post. In the end, he came to his home country Turkey precisely Istanbul where he met with a woman he planned to marry.
As you know, he went into a self-imposed exile and as such could not take his wife and children along. As you know too, when anyone turns himself into an opposition for a government of any country, it will not be easy coming in and going out thereafter for any purpose since clamping on him will be easier in such an instance.
As a natural inclination, a once-married may not find it easy to remain single. He therefore found a woman in Turkey he plans to marry since he is traced back to Turkey too. The Turkish ruled the Islamic world until it fell – since less than two hundred years ago (1828-1908) - during the reign of Jamal Attaturk in Turkey, the rogue who turned Turkey into to a secular state. During their reign (as the Islamic empire), the ruling Turks who have spread throughout the Islamic world and have settled therein have remained there. Of such people were the grandfathers of Jamal Kashoggi (who remained in the area known today as Saudi Arabia and as such nationalized). The name ‘Kashoggi’ is not an Arabic word. It is just like names like Az Zamakhshari and Abu Dawud as Sajistaani which are not Arabic but became Arabic as a result of the expansion of Islam and in the same vein, the Kashoggis became Saudi nationals.
So the Turkish authorities insisted that even though your forefathers were Turkish, you are now a Saudi citizen. It is until you denationalize since such you cannot marry a Turkish in as much as you are yet to divorce your wife. This is as contained in their secular –and godless- constitution which stipulates that no one can officially have two wives without divorcing the other.
So if you are married and you want to marry their national, they will now allow on records that you have two wives and as such, you must officially divorce the first wife even -if in another country-
As such, he had the only option of visiting the Saudi consulate in Istanbul since he could not go to Saudi Arabia anymore, to apply for a divorce document for the wife at home (Saudi) who has had grownup children to allow him marry the new wife.
Allaah knows best of what really transpires since investigations are still ongoing and as Allaah said:
“O you who have believed, when an evil-doer comes to you with an information, investigate it, lest you harm a people out of ignorance, and become over what you have done, regretful.” [Hujuraat, 6]
Many a time will an incidence occur and people would have pointed accusing fingers at others only to find out they are not as assumed later on.
Just two days ago, a similar incidence came up in Nigeria; Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the agitators for the State of Biafra who disappeared after the military laid siege on his house sometimes back, I hope you all know the hue and cry that have transpired as a result in the country.
Some jobless lawyers and redundant human right activists have even taken the matter to the United Nations, African Union and the World Crime Court over the accusation that the present government had killed Nnamdi Kanu and if not the government should produce him. The government kept silent about it in denial.
Just two days ago now, he has been heard of in Israel. Does the dead talk? Can you see now? The criminal is now in Israel where he is inspiring the Igbos to remain on their agitation for the secession.
Now, if someone has talked ill about President Buhari accusing him to be a criminal and a murderer over a matter he is not abreast of, what will he have to say now? This is why one must be cautious before taking a position.
I have once listened to a stupid lawyer on a TV channel throwing jibes at Buhari over Kanu’s case accusing him that after he Murdered him, he could not even release his corpse and that the life of a cattle is worthier before him (Buhari) than the human soul. Today now, Kanu is being heard of in Israel. Can you see now? That is why when an issue surfaces, you should be cautions of your comments about it lest you have a cause to regret.
This Kashoggi’s issue is well known but how did it really happened? By Allaah, we do not know.
And what I sensed – if you could have sensed it too- is that the social media is not a reliable source of information. Majority of the information contents are lies, seventy – five percent of it are lies. You can as well make a trial.
If you could try it too, the caption of every report is usually lies coined to attract the reader to read the body of the information only to discover thereafter that the headlines do not really tally with the content of the write-up. I have tried this severally and have always seen lies. If you are not very observant, you would have forgotten the content you read, it is the headlines you will carry about. You would have forgotten that the body does not tally with the heading and that is the more reason why the browsing data gets exhausted quickly. It may be stated that a captioned audio file is twenty-four minutes clip but after listening to it, you will find out that the content of the clip does not tally with the caption at all. Let us then imagine how much data will a twenty-four-minute clip exhaust. You may find out that the whole clip is about a mere declaration and that’s what you have expended your money on. So, if we have also taken such as our sources of information, we would definitely fall into errors and misconception and we would blow issues of little value out of proportions.
In essence, he was seen entering (the consulate) but was never seen coming out. He went with the lady he wants to marry and she waited for him outside as he left his mobile phone with her. It was said that he had a sophisticated wrist watch with him which records and uploads all happenings around him to his phone. The lady was just holding the phone without knowing what it contains and after she expected him to come out, she approached the consulate security men and asked of his whereabouts. She was told that no one remains in the consulate and was sent back. Being a Turkish, she thus made a formal report of the issue to the authorities and that his phone is with her. When the phone was searched, it was found that information about what transpired before his death were recorded. He was said to be heard saying: ‘don’t inject me… don’t inject me…’ until his voice could no longer be heard.
But then, is this a substantial proof that the Saudi monarch killed him or that his son was sent to kill him or that the son killed him himself…? You see how dangerous it is to take positions about issues one does not witness. Allah says:
“And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart-about all those [ones] will be questioned.” (Israa’: 36)
The government is obliged to say what they know about the happening not that that they intended to tell lies. They knew he entered the consulate to have his papers and what they knew was that he came out hereafter.
For the fact that about fifteen security officers arrived Turkey from Saudi Arabia with two private jets around that time, The Turkish government claimed that they were the killers or that they were sent for the murder since no other than the government can send for such a mission. With all these, we have no concrete evidence.
So, if you would shave someone’s head in his absence, it will be a futile exercise. If we claim that the Saudi government ordered them with his murder, why then were they arrested by the same government? They are all locked up now and the consulate general too has been sacked. So, if they had ordered for the murder, is it possible to then stage such a drama by arresting and sacking them from their post? Won’t they protest too that you sent us on a mission and you still sacked us?
But some people are there to make domes from grains such as the hateful and spiteful tariqa ardent who would always speak ill of the Saudi government no matter what they do. It is spiteful for them even though they cannot make Hajj in Senegal since that was designed so by Allah.
So, they started speaking ill (about the Saudi government) and it was said that during last Jum’ah, the issue was the topic of the sermon in some mosques with malicious comments in some countries mentioned in the question. Since the whole incidence happened in the Saudi consulate, they can easily add up to their jibes at her.
From the foregoing, we were told to make naseehah about the issue.
In the world we live, you may claim that you have freedom of speech and the world is now a global village as such you can say what you like … You should know that our Creator will never allow injustice among us. He shall raise you with those you make lies against on the Day of Resurrection. Everyone will account for his deeds as Allah shall not condone injustices against anyone as He is a Just Lord.
The matter is still being investigated and the Saudi government have arrested eighteen suspects including the fifteen suspects said to have killed him. Even today, the declaration that was made by the Saudi Government today is stern and that the manner with which he was killed was too gruesome and as such, they promised the whole world that whoever has a hand in the murder shall face the wrath of the law and will have to blame himself for his life. Is it thus possible to have premeditated he murder as still make such threats? Up till now, we do not know those who masterminded his murder.
Even if a particular individual had masterminded his murder and we get to know, would that be a justification for deriding a government? Will Allaah absolve you of accounts for your spiteful statements against him even if he had killed him on the Day of Resurrection? Are you willing to lose your good deeds just because of him? Why won’t you be cautious of what you utter? This is what the Deen had laid down. Let’s be mindful of what we say as it is easier to see others faults than one’s own.
Then, there is no amount of lies and fabrications that will make us (People of Sunnah) hate where the Ka’bah is situated and where the Prophet Muhammad (Sallal Laahu ‘alayhi wasallam) lived. You may ask yourself, is it possible that you hate Makkah and Madeenah?
Saudi Arabia is hated by many of the unscrupulous people worldwide who will never want to see any good of it. They so much hate the country. But why? What has they done for you; is it because of her wealth? Is it because Allah has made her as the custodian of Makkah and Madeenah (the two holy Mosques)? What really is her crime? Will you teach Allah what to do perhaps He should make Nigerians the custodians of Makkah and Madeenah? If it were to be so, the whole place would have been filled with human excreta, is it not the Nigerians? At least those of you who have visited the place should tell others about the good things over there without exaggerations. It’s a place to be for those who have visited and those that are yet to visit it.
The arrangements of Allaah is so perfect; He has put the rightful persons in the custody of the place. So for this, we pray Allaah to protect the host country of the Two Holy Mosques from the hate of the haters and from the jealousy of the jealous people. May Allah assist Islam and strengthen the Sunnah of the Messenger (sallal Laahu ‘alayhi wa 'aalihee wasallam) (aameen)…”
