Being A Summary of the Text Prepared by Ash-Shaykh AbdurRazaaq bn Badr bn AbdilMuhsin al-‘Abaad
May Allaah preserve the son and the father upon goodness.
Abridgement by: Aboo Aamir Ishaaq b. AbdirRaheem – may Allaah forgive him and his dead parents.

Bismillaah-ir-Rahmaan-ir-Raheem
The slave – who is striving to have a pure heart - needs to shut all doors of evil against himself lest he gets stained from time to time.

As an example, Allaah the Mighty said:
 قُل لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ يَغُضُّواْ مِنۡ أَبۡصَٰرِهِمۡ وَيَحۡفَظُواْ فُرُوجَهُمۡۚ ذَٰلِكَ أَزۡكَىٰ لَهُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرُۢ بِمَا يَصۡنَعُونَ
Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do. (Noor: 30).

Aboo Hayyaan al-Andaloosee – may Allaah bestow mercy on him – said: ‘Allaah mentioned lowering the gaze before guarding the private parts because looking is the messenger of Zinaa and reconnoiter of sins, what looking cuases is severer and more.’

Al-Imaam As’Sadee – may Allaah bestow mercy on him – said: ‘Whoever guards his private part as well as his sight, he will become clean from the dirt which gives filthiness to the people of sins…’

Consequently, it is is the part of the goodness of one’s Islam that one shuns excess talks and look.

Ibn AL-Qayyim said: ‘Most of the sins are borne out of excess talks and look; the two are the major ways Shaytaan comes in; the two limbs are never exhausted or tired.’
