Kashoggi: Saudi Public Prosecutor Recommends Death Penalty for Five

The Saudi Arabia's Public Prosecutor has recommended death penalty for five persons indicted in the murder of the Saudi citizen, Jamal Kashoggi, that was murdered in the Saudi Consulate in Turkey on October 2, 2018 in what has remained a mystery.

In a report made public by Saudi Press Agency on Rabiul Awwal 7, 1440 (15th November, 2018), the Prosecutor says a total of 21 individuals have been interrogated over the matter while 11 of them (including the 5) were indicted and their matter preferred to court for prosecution.

'The Public Prosecutor would like to note that it has submitted formal requests to brotherly authorities in Turkey, letters no.7841 dated 17/10/2018 and no. 9995 dated 31/10/2018, and no. 11380 dated 31/10/2018 to provide evidence and information including any audio recordings in the possession of the Turkish authorities related to the case,' says the report monitored on the website of Saudi Press Agency.

The Prosecutor says he is yet to receive any response to the requests.
