Injections and Intravenous During Ramadan

Question: What is the ruling on having injections during the daytime in Ramadan, whether for the purpose of nutrition or treatment? Answer: It is permissible for a person who is observing Sawm (Fast) to be treated by injections, whether intravenous or intramuscular, during the day in Ramadan. But it is impermissible to have nutritive injections, as they come under the same ruling as having food and drinks. Thus, it is considered a trick to break Sawm in Ramadan. If it is possible to have the intravenous or intramuscular injections during the night, it will be better. May Allah grant us success! May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and Companions!
