Luqman Abdurrauf, A Deceitful Commander of A Disoriented Army of Exuberant Youths

I just listened to Luqman Abdurrauf's rable rousing for the members of their cult-like 'Pristine' Methodology in Ilorin where he was trying to woo their 'senior' brothers in the other camp, those they used to refer to as the Musa'afiqah.

Luqman Abdurrauf is one of the arrow-heads of this dangerous group of Muslim youths in Ilorin. He was among those fingered in the 21-Point Accusations which till date they have not debunked just a point from it, the same way they deflected for more than a year now from addressing another 15-Point accusations levelled against them by a former member of their clique.

In his this comedy of about 60 minutes which elicited a laughter session from his audience in the masjid all through with damaging jibes at their opponents, Luqman Abdurrauf reiterated that the most populous black country in the world, Nigeria, is devoid of any upright Sunnah scholar whom knowledge of the Shariah could be taken from.

He deceitfully lumped some personalities whose affairs are so clear as to not being upright the likes of the director of Daar Naim with scholars that are known to be striving upon the Sunnah.

In his words, as an example, directing learners to Dr Sharaf Gbadebo is a great injustice upon the learners. He said, Dr Sharaf would only return such leamers to Sufism.

He believed that the likes of Dr Sharaf, Dr Faadil, Shaykh Qamardeen Yunus etc are deviants because they have been discovered not to be steadfast upon the Salafi Manhaj.

In an attempt to nail those scholars, he said they had been one time or the other caught uttering statements opposed to the fundamentals of the Sunnah.

He cited an incident of Dr Sharaf allegedly inciting people against the rulers upon the mimbar. An incident Dr Sharaf had come out to clarify and said was not as thought. To the likes of Luqman, once a scholar is 'caught' with a mistake, he is gone.

He also accused Dr Sharaf of associating with certain duaat which he believed are deviants the likes of Shaykh Amubieya and Baba Lagbeni. He said Shaykh Amubieya is mubtadi for visiting one Baba Olore when the government threatened to demolish their centre where weird things used to happen in the name of training Islamic students. Luqman and his people would not want to know the reason behind the visit, perhaps if it was advice or some other permissible reasons.

He also cited a statement credited to the Shaykh when he said metaphorically that he was a mokondoro. A monkodoro is a synonymous term to Almajiri often used for traditional Muslim learners in the northern part of Nigeria. It was glaring that the Shaykh was only making an harmless joke because in reality it is known that he does not operate like the mokondoros.

He also accused the Shaykh of lying in his usual manner of making hypothetical statements as examples of what some youths do today.

To Luqman and his ilk, nobody will associate with such individuals except that he is a deviant himself. That is upon the principle of tasalsul bi-tabdee (serial tabdee) which Shaykh Al-Albaani refuted here, as well as Shaykh Al-Fawzaan here

One of the fundamental problems with Luqman and his comrade in their Hizbiyyah such as Mubaarak Olayemi is that they are not patient at learning. Many of them just picked up this dangerous understanding via SPUBS of recent. To them, any statement credited to any of the salaf regrading how to deal with the deviants is to be applied absolutely.

For instance, they have failed to know when a person will become a deviant and when he will not.

They fail to grasp the agreed maxim that 'not everybody that falls into Bid'ah becomes a mubtadi.' See Shaykhul Islam comment on that maxim here

They often deceitfully qoute the likes of Shaykh Rabee - hafidhahullaah - in what suits their whims. If you tell them but Shaykh Rabee - hafidhahullaah - which you claim to follow his manhaj used to be patient with the opposer of the Sunnah for many years before coming out against him, they will rebuff that. Shaykh Rabee - hafidhahullaah - has asked us to refute your likes. See it here

To them, for a.person to be qualified to be a scholar of Sunnah he must near a semblance of perfection. A Salafee must not fall into a mistake of bid'ah otherwise he is gone. Shaykh Umar Bazmool - hafidhahullaah - refutes that here

They say Shaykh Qamardeen Yunus kicked against boycotting the deviants, and that he said there is no Ilzaam (treating a person who does not see a deviant as a deviant, a deviant). The Shaykh only said apply it to the people that are truly deviants not your brothers upon the Sunnah. They did not accept that from him, and for that he became a deviant in their sight.

They say if the likes of Shaykh Rabee declares a person a deviant all the world must see him so because all the proofs are with Shaykh Rabee. If you ask them but why didn't Shaykh Rabee treat the likes of Shaykh AbdulMuhsin Abbaad, Shaykh Wasiyyullah, Shaykh Fawzaan, etc, as deviants when they don't see those whom Shaykh Rabee and Shaykh Ubayd see as deviants, they start blabbing.

A lot of things wrong with these young boys (and the unfortunate girls under them) largely due to their inexperience and the lack of readiness to learn.

Perhaps they don't know the implication of their this manhaj, they don't know they are insinuating or even expressing that there are no people of Sunnah in all of Nigeria except they. No doubt that this is a trait of the the khawarij. We have challenged them to produce a scholar from outside the country that preceded them in saying that the whole of Nigeria is devoid of just an upright scholar of Sunnah.

Anyway, Luqman was trying to woo his 'senior brothers' in the other camp which we know are coming to terms to the reality of the futility of the dangerous manhaj which they too are still partly on.

Luqman was also trying to give emotional assurances to their apparently disillusioned members whom the recent barrage of rebuttals and Naseehah have weighed down at heart.

He was speaking like an army commander that had lost a number of troops in a recent battle and whom the remaining troops were afraid to carry on with the battle.

Luqman, you and the rest of the commanders (Mubaarak Olayemi, Habeeb Arikeuyo, who has surprisingly taken a back seat of recent, et al) are going to fall very soon Inshaa Allaah.

We pray Allaah guide you all back to the wasatiyyah.
