In the Name of Allâh the Most Beneficent the Most Merciful
All praise to Allâh the Lord of the worlds, we seek His benedictions and peace on the noblest of the creation, our Prophet Muhammad, his household and those who tread their path until Resurrection. There is no doubt that we live in a fast changing world. A world where everything is going upside down, may Allâh save the Muslims. Just as the world is going into ocean of destruction in the name of modernity, some ill-guided Muslims are making efforts to drag the Muslims alongside the doom-seeking Kuffaar. May Allâh save the Muslims.
Just some few years ago, some ill-faced persons came forward saying they are Muslim gays! How on earth can you say you are a Muslim gay while you are aware of what Allâh the Irresistible Lord did to the People of Loot [the infamous Sodom and Gomorrah] simply because of sodomy, and of course, its underlying Kufr.
There is hardly any unIslamic practice which some Muslims have not tried to ‘Islamize’ today. May Allâh pardon those who laid the foundations for ‘Islamization of knowledge,’ alas, some people have lent it a rope. Many Muslims make efforts today to Islamize even raw unbelief.
The latest in the Islamization madness is the so-called ‘World Muslimah Beauty Pageant’ which should rather be called ‘Corruption of the Muslimah.’
Whoever has any iota of understanding of the Islamic knowledge will know that the concept of Muslimah Beauty pageant is madness, foolishness, craziness, corruption of land, calling to lewdness and obscenity.
Our Lord the Mighty instructed His believing female slaves:
وَقَرْنَ فِي بُيُوتِكُنَّ وَلا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ الأولَى
‘And stay in your houses, and do not display yourselves like that of the times of ignorance...’ [Al-Ahzaab: 33]
So we wonder when those ladies were being paraded before the faces of men (and via the satellite TV) if that is not a display of the times of ignorance? One of the posers for the people at Muslim Rights Concern [MURIC].
Al-Imaam bn Katheer said in the Tafseer of the Verse:
‘These etiquettes are commanded by Allâh the Mighty, for the wives of the Prophet (salAllâhu alayhi wa sallam), and the women of the Ummah follow them in the ruling… Allâh’s Words: ‘And stay in your houses’ means, ‘remain in your houses; do not go out except for reasons. Among such legislated reasons is that of Salaah in the mosques even with its conditions…
‘His words: ‘Do not display yourselves like that of the times of ignorance;’
Mujaahid said: ‘Woman then used to display themselves before men’s glare; that is the display of the times of Ignorance.
‘Qataadah said: ‘Do not display yourselves like that of the times of ignorance;’ that is, when you go out of your houses do not do as the women of Jaahiliyyah used to do such that they would walk in a particular way (is that what they call cat-walking in beauty pageant contests today?), breaking and flirting; Allâh forbade all that.’
Unless one wants to be economical with the truth, the so-called ‘Muslimah Beauty Pageant’ is a display of the times of ignorance, whether the Muslim rightists at MURIC like it or not.
Allâh also commanded men to lower their gazes from women, and vice-versa. We wonder if the organizers are not putting the men of the world – its Muslims most especially – into trouble by bringing some hapless Muslim ladies before the glare of the whole world. May Allâh help Eka Shanti, the Indonesian chief organizer of the contest, to a quick repentance.
He the Mighty said:
قُلْ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَغُضُّوا مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِمْ
‘Tell the believing men to lower their gaze…’ [an-Nuur: 30].
May Allâh save the Muslims from those who spread corruption in the land, and from those who support them.
Thus despite this glaring prohibition of the show of ignorance in the text of the Qur’aan as well as the forbiddance of emulating the Kuffaar, it is sad that some people who are supposed to guide the Ummah with their educational qualifications are rather trying to mislead them, making them think that the ill-placed ‘Muslimah Beauty Pageant’ is indeed Islamic.
Without mincing our words, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), headed by Prof. Ishaaq Akintola, ostensibly gaffed, as it has been gaffing in the recent past, when in a press release congratulated the Nigerian winner of the devilish contest as well as its organizers.
We have painstakingly read the press release dated 19th September, 2013, and we found it a piece of nonsense devoid of Prophetic guidance. May Allâh pardon us and them.
The reasons they adduced to justify the mimicry of the West is nothing but a sheer display of massive ignorance in the garb of a grandiloquent academism and a Muslim rightist stupidity.
They wrote:‘We congratulate Sister Aishah Ajibola of the University of Lagos for emerging the winner of the world Muslimah contest.’
They should rather be sad that Aisha Ajibola, and other misguided Muslim ladies, because of some paltry 2,200 US Dollars (approximately 352,000 Nigeria Naira) sold their conscience to some devilish thoughts.
They wrote: ‘We align with the contest in view of the fact that the criteria were not indecent exposure and provocative postures.’
That is a blunder MURIC, it has been shown in the foregoing that the display is nothing but that of the times of ignorance. Your alignment with it holds no water rather it shows the emptiness of your so-called scholarship.
They wrote: ‘We equally congratulate the organizers of the contest as they used the global event to create great awareness for the rest of the world to show that Muslims have their own values and norms concerning beauty and intelligence.’
No Sirs, that is another error. You don’t show the correct teachings of Islam with stupidity and open sins. The ‘global event’ has rather shown a very great corruption in the psyche of some Muslims. No sane Muslim should be happy that some hapless ladies were made to show off their fashions, as the BBC puts it, to the glare of the world.
They wrote: ‘The event has also proved beyond reasonable doubt that Islam does not repress its women. Neither does it teach pushing them to the background.’
We are sorry, the above statements makes no Islamic sense at all. To show that Islam does not repress its women does not require a display of open sin. The tone is highly apologetic and devoid of Sharee’ah expostulations. Right from day one has Islam empowered its women in its own way because it is a religion based on a Divine Legislation from the Lord of the worlds.
They wrote: ‘The contest also underscores the fact that opposition to any provocative beauty pageant anywhere in the world can be expressed in a non-violent manner.’
This is also out of point. It rather shows the understanding of its writers as a people who have failed to grasp the correct teaching of the Deen. The western-organised beauty pageant is evil just as the ‘Muslimah’ pageant is devilish.
They wrote: ‘The outcome of the event adds another feather not only to Nigeria's cap but that of the African continent as a whole.’
Perhaps the above comment exposes the real motive behind the congratulatory message. We are afraid if our professor was not driven by a nationalistic and tribal drive to praise what is evil and immoral.’ May Allaah pardon us if we have thought otherwise.
You will not see any Verse of the Glorious Qur’aan or a quote from the Sunnah supporting the claims in the congratulatory message.
Finally, we want to implore the people at MURIC to avoid taking steps that will jeopardise the Islamic morals. They should always weigh their views before making them open. This latest view of theirs is without doubt at variance with the correct manhaj of Islam. We are sure no reputable scholars of the Deen will support such a misguided feat. Therefore, the people at MURIC should without wasting much of the time retract the congratulatory message and make the necessary adjustment.
May Allâh make us and them know the truth and endow us the ability and power to follow it.
Important notice: We have never attempted to declare the people involved in the ‘Muslimah Pageant’ as unbelievers let alone those at MURIC. But we strongly believe the ‘Islamized’ pageant is an open sin, misguidance and an act alien to Islam and the Muslims. We equally disapprove the support those at MURIC have given it. We know this may hurt but the truth is better said lest we all perish together.
May Allâh quicken the repentance of all His slaves.
