On the day Suhayb b. Sinaan, the Roman who later embraced Islam in Makkah, concluded  on Hijrah from Makkah to Madeenah, the unbelivers got wind of that and went to him. They said: 'You came to us poor and wretched, you made a lot of wealth in our midst and you attained what you have attained of honour, now you want to leave with your wealth and soul. By Allaah, that is not possible.

Suhayb said: 'If I forsake my wealth for you will you let me off?'

They said: 'Yes.'

He said: 'I announce that I have frelinquished my wealth for you.'

The news got to the Messenger of Allaah - sallallahu alahyi wa sallam - and he said: 'Suhayb has made a profit! Suhayb has made a profit!'
