How to Win Back Palestine
From the foregoing, it is crystal clear that Palestine is a Muslim land, and most specially, Al-Qudus (Jerusalem), officially became a Muslim land in 636CE. In extension therefore, Masjid Al-Aqsa is a sacred site for all the Muslims of the world.
In the hadith of Abu Saeed al-Khudree (radiyallahu anhu) the Messenger of Allaah ï·º said:
Ù¡ - لا تÙشدّ٠الرّÙØال٠إلّا إلى ثَلاثة٠مَساجدَ: مَسجÙد٠الØرامÙØŒ ومَسجÙدي هذا، ومَسجÙد٠الأَقصى
'(There should be) no consentious journey to any (masjid) except three masaajid: the Sacred Masjid of Makkah, my this masjid (in Madeenah) and al-Masjid Al-Aqsa (the Furthest Masjid).' (Saheeh at-Tirmidhi 326)
As a matter fact, the Ascension (Mi'raaj) of the Messenger of Allaah ï·º to the Heavens included a stop-over at al-Aqsa.
Allaah the Mighty said:
سÙبْØَانَ الَّذÙÙŠ أَسْرَىٰ بÙعَبْدÙه٠لَيْلًا مّÙÙ†ÙŽ الْمَسْجÙد٠الْØَرَام٠إÙÙ„ÙŽÙ‰ الْمَسْجÙد٠الْأَقْصَى الَّذÙÙŠ بَارَكْنَا Øَوْلَه٠لÙÙ†ÙرÙÙŠÙŽÙ‡Ù Ù…Ùنْ آيَاتÙنَا Ûš Ø¥Ùنَّه٠هÙÙˆÙŽ السَّمÙيع٠الْبَصÙيرÙ
'Glorified (and Exalted) be He (Allah) [above all that (evil) they associate with Him] Who took His slave (Muhammad ) for a journey by night from Al-Masjid-al-Haram (at Makkah) to the farthest mosque (in Jerusalem), the neighbourhood whereof We have blessed, in order that We might show him (Muhammad ) of Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.). Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.' Quraan 18:1
So Jerusalem is a Muslim land. Peaceful Jews and Christians are allowed to stay there as guests of their Muslim hosts cum government.
However the sad reality is that the Muslims are today a people estranged in Palestine, and are facing an untold persecution and subjugation. The Muslim life has no meaning to the Jews who shed it at the slightest provocation. The present indiscriminate bombing of Gaza is an example.
Therefore the call to liberating Palestine is justified and Islamic.
But how?
The-how is the complex thing here. Many Muslim laymen have made the matter more confusing.
The scholars of Sunnah have said a lot and their opinions remain ever germane. Though some ill-sighted bigots paint them as weak. Some even say the scholars are agents of the Zionists while some notable Muslim countries are bootlickers of the Jews.
The aggregate of the scholars' views is that the Muslims must unite upon Tawheed and Sunnah; shun sins, return to Allaah in repentance and make adequate preparations towards confronting the Zionists and their allies.
وَأَعÙدّÙواْ Ù„ÙŽÙ‡ÙÙ… مَّا ٱسْتَطَعْتÙÙ… مّÙÙ† Ù‚ÙوَّةÙÛ¢ ÙˆÙŽÙ…ÙÙ† رّÙبَاط٠ٱلْخَيْل٠تÙرْهÙبÙونَ بÙÙ‡ÙÛ¦ عَدÙوَّ ٱللَّه٠وَعَدÙوَّكÙمْ وَءَاخَرÙينَ Ù…ÙÙ† دÙونÙÙ‡Ùمْ لَا تَعْلَمÙونَهÙم٠ٱللَّه٠يَعْلَمÙÙ‡Ùمْ Ûš وَمَا تÙÙ†ÙÙÙ‚Ùواْ Ù…ÙÙ† شَىْءÙÛ¢ ÙÙÙ‰ سَبÙيل٠ٱللَّه٠يÙÙˆÙŽÙÙ‘ÙŽ Ø¥ÙلَيْكÙمْ وَأَنتÙمْ لَا تÙظْلَمÙونَ
'And make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war (tanks, planes, missiles, artillery, etc.) to threaten the enemy of Allah and your enemy, and others besides whom, you may not know but whom Allah does know. And whatever you shall spend in the Cause of Allah shall be repaid unto you, and you shall not be treated unjustly.' al-Anfaal:60
Scholars explain that a more necessary preparation is the one that is faith-based. The Muslims must be spiritually prepared. They must eschew all acts of polytheism and heresies in their midst.
The cry by some agitators, 'O Salahudeen Ayyoobi, where are you?' is a slogan that will only take the Muslims further back because of its idolatorous content.
'Salaam Yaa Mahdi', 'Yaa Hussein' are all heretical and purposeless.
Then the material preparation should follow. Muslims need the modern means of warfare: air and missile defence system, strong airforce, strong navy, nuclear arsenal and battle-ready ground troops.
The power of Eemaan and Sunnah however comes first.
Ash-Shaykh Al-Albaani - rahimahullah - said
Ù†ØÙ† نقول إن الجهاد ÙÙŠ Ùلسطين هو بلا شك جهاد عيني ولكن يجب اتخاذ العدة
We say that the Jihaad in Palestine without doubt is an individual obligated Jihaad but it is a must to make preparations.
والآن اتخاذ العدة مسدود الطريق أمام من كان يستطيع أن يتخذ العدة ؛
But making this preparation is blocked (by the enemies) in front of everyone that has the ability to make it.
Ùهو الآن يعني ما دام لم تتخذ العدة التي أمر الله بها Ùهو لا يقال إنه واجب لأنه Øينذاك يعني أنه كل Ùرد يركب رأسه ÙˆÙŠØ±ÙˆØ ÙˆÙŠØ¬Ø§Ù‡Ø¯ ويÙعل الÙعل ثم يأتي بعد ذلك شرور أكبر من المصلØØ©...
So if the preparations cannot be made adequately as commanded by Allaah then we would not say it is obligatory (to wage the Jihaad) because it will mean that every individual is going to exert his energy and do what he can, and which (perhaps) a worse repercussion will follow it, worse than the former stand (of making preparations and staying off fighting)...
(Allaah says)
{ و أعدوا لهم ما استطعتم من قوة ومن رباط الخيل ترهبون به عدو الله وعدوكم }
And make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war (tanks, planes, missiles, artillery, etc.) to threaten the enemy of Allah and your enemy...
هذا Ù†ØÙ† ندندن دائما Øوله وهو يتطلب الاستعداد الإيماني والنÙسي ØŒ ثم يأتي الاستعداد المادي
So this is what we have often been saying, (this command) requires being prepared spiritually then materially
وأين المسلمين وهذا الاستعداد إنما هي عواط٠جامعة لا نظام لها ولا قيود ولا شروط وهذا لا يجوز
Where are the Muslims (regarding this command)? The preparation that is rather in place are just general sentiments devoid of proper planning and arrangement. This is not permissible.' End of quote. See here for the fatwa.
Ash-Shaykh bn Baz - rahimahullah - said:
إن المسلم ليألم كثيرًا، ويأس٠جدًا من تدهور القضية الÙلسطينية من وضع سيئ إلى وضع أسوأ منه،
'Indeed a Muslim would feel the enormous pain and be seriously sad over the persistent Palestinian issue that (often) move from a bad situation to worse.
وتزداد تعقيداً مع الأيام، Øتى وصلت إلى ما وصلت إليه ÙÙŠ الآونة الأخيرة، بسبب اختلا٠الدول المجاورة، وعدم صمودها صÙاً واØدًا ضد عدوها،
...and it continues to aggravate all days until it got to where it got to in this later period due to the differences in the ranks of the neighbouring (Muslim) states, and their inability to be a single bloc against their enemy...
وعدم التزامها بØكم الإسلام الذي علق الله عليه النصر، ووعد أهله بالاستخلا٠والتمكين ÙÙŠ الأرض، وذلك ينذر بالخطر العظيم، والعاقبة الوخيمة، إذا لم تسارع الدول المجاورة إلى توØيد صÙÙˆÙها من جديد، والتزام Øكم الإسلام تجاه هذه القضية، التي تهمهم وتهم العالم الإسلامي كله.
...so also is their failure to apply the laws of Islam upon which Allaah has hinged victory and promised His people as successors on land upon stability. (The failure to do this) sends a bad signal and a devastating repercussion, that if the neighbouring (Muslim) states do not hasten to close their ranks afresh, and apply the laws of Islam to confront the matter, as it affects them and the whole of Muslim world...
ومما تجدر الإشارة إليه ÙÙŠ هذا الصدد أن القضية الÙلسطينية قضية إسلامية أولاً وأخيرًا،
It is good that it is noted here that the Palestinian issue is an Islamic matter, first and last...
ولكن أعداء الإسلام بذلوا جهوداً جبارة لإبعادها عن الخط الإسلامي، وإÙهام المسلمين من غير العرب، أنها قضية عربية، لا شأن لغير العرب بها،
The enemies of Islam are the ones making excruciating efforts to paint it a non-Islamic issue, and to misinform the non-Arab Muslims that it is an Arab issue (the Arabic League should be allowed to handle), that the non-Arabs have no business delving into it.
ويبدوا أنهم نجØوا إلى Øد ما ÙÙŠ ذلك،
It appears that the enemy has succeeded (in that propaganda) to an extent...
ولذا Ùإنني أرى أنه لا يمكن الوصول إلى ØÙ„ لتلك القضية، إلا باعتبار القضية إسلامية،
This is the reason I opine that there is no way-out except until we make the matter an Islamic issue...
وبالتكات٠بين المسلمين لإنقاذها، وجهاد اليهود جهاداً إسلامياً، Øتى تعود الأرض إلى أهلها، ÙˆØتى يعود شذاذ اليهود إلى بلادهم التي جاءوا منها، ويبقى اليهود الأصليون ÙÙŠ بلادهم، تØت Øكم الإسلام لا Øكم الشيوعية ولا العلمانية، وبذلك ينتصر الØÙ‚ ويخذل الباطل، ويعود أهل الأرض إلى أرضهم على Øكم الإسلام، لا على Øكم غيره، والله الموÙÙ‚
So when the Muslims unite to free the land and wage war against the Jews in the Islamic way until the land goes back to its owners,while the abberant Jews returned to (Europe and America) where they had come from while the original Jewish residents are allowed to stay but under the Islamic rule not socialism or liberalism (democracy) that is when the truth will prevail and falsehood will vanish, and the owners of the land will be able to return to their land under the Islamic rule not other rule. Allaah alone can grant success.' End of quote. (binbaz.org.sa).
So the Muslims should take glad tidings. The good end is for the believers.
Allaah the Mighty says
وَعَدَ اللَّه٠الَّذÙينَ آمَنÙوا Ù…ÙنكÙمْ وَعَمÙÙ„Ùوا الصَّالÙØَات٠لَيَسْتَخْلÙÙَنَّهÙمْ ÙÙÙŠ الْأَرْض٠كَمَا اسْتَخْلَÙÙŽ الَّذÙينَ Ù…ÙÙ† قَبْلÙÙ‡Ùمْ ÙˆÙŽÙ„ÙŽÙŠÙمَكّÙنَنَّ Ù„ÙŽÙ‡Ùمْ دÙينَهÙم٠الَّذÙÙŠ ارْتَضَىٰ Ù„ÙŽÙ‡Ùمْ ÙˆÙŽÙ„ÙŽÙŠÙبَدّÙلَنَّهÙÙ… مّÙÙ† بَعْد٠خَوْÙÙÙ‡Ùمْ أَمْنًا Ûš يَعْبÙدÙونَنÙÙŠ لَا ÙŠÙشْرÙÙƒÙونَ بÙÙŠ شَيْئًا Ûš ÙˆÙŽÙ…ÙŽÙ† ÙƒÙŽÙَرَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلÙÙƒÙŽ ÙÙŽØ£ÙولَٰئÙÙƒÙŽ Ù‡Ùم٠الْÙَاسÙÙ‚Ùونَ
'Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islam). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. But whoever disbelieved after this, they are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).' Nuur: 55.
He the Mighty also said
ٱلَّذÙينَ Ø¥ÙÙ† مَّكَّنَّٰهÙمْ ÙÙÙ‰ ٱلْأَرْض٠أَقَامÙواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَوÙاْ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَمَرÙواْ بÙٱلْمَعْرÙÙˆÙ٠وَنَهَوْاْ عَن٠ٱلْمÙنكَر٠ۗ ÙˆÙŽÙ„Ùلَّه٠عَٰقÙبَة٠ٱلْأÙÙ…ÙورÙ
Those (Muslim rulers) who, if We give them power in the land, (they) order for Iqamat-as-Salat. [i.e. to perform the five compulsory congregational Salat (prayers) (the males in mosques)], to pay the Zakat and they enjoin Al-Ma’ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do), and forbid Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism and all that Islam has forbidden) [i.e. they make the Qur’an as the law of their country in all the spheres of life]. And with Allah rests the end of (all) matters (of creatures). Hajj: 41
The Messenger of Allaah ï·º said:
لا تَزال٠طائÙØ©ÙŒ من Ø£Ùمَّتي مَنْصÙورÙينَ، لا يَضÙرّÙهم Ø®Ùذْلان٠مَن خذلهم، Øتى تقومَ الساعةÙ
'A people will not cease to be in my Ummah victorious, the dispraise of dispraisers would not harm them, until the Hour shall come.' Saheeh al-Jaamee 7392
The people of Shaam (the Greater Syria) should be more upright and steadfast, the Messenger of Allaah ï·º said:
إذا Ùَسد أهل٠الشامÙØ› Ùلا خيرَ Ùيكم، ولا يزال٠طائÙØ©ÙŒ من أمتي منصورين، لا يَضÙرّÙهم Ù…ÙŽÙ† خذلهم Øتى تقومَ الساعةÙ.
'When the people of Shaam become corrupt there shall not be good in (the rest of) you (Muslims).' Hidaayah ar-Ruwaah 6347 with an authentic chain.
Then the great tidings from the Messenger of Allaah to the Muslim Ummah but with a caveat:
بشّÙرْ هذه٠الأÙمَّةَ بالسَّناء٠والدّÙين٠والرّÙÙعةÙØŒ والتَّمكين٠ÙÙŠ الأرضÙØŒ ÙÙ…ÙŽÙ† عمÙÙ„ÙŽ منهÙÙ… عَمَلَ الآخرة٠للدّÙنيا، Ù„ÙŽÙ… يكÙÙ† له٠ÙÙŠ الآخرة٠مÙÙ† نصيبÙ
'Give to this Ummah the glad tidings of posperity, religious (upliftment), rise and being established on the land but whoever amongst them act with the matter of the Hereafter for the world would not have a portion therein (in the Hereafter).' Saheeh at-Targheeb 22
And the Messenger of Allaah ï·º took a promise from Allaah:
إنَّ اللَّهَ زوى لي الأرضَ Ùرأيت٠مشارقَها ومغاربَها وإنَّ أمَّتي سيبلغ٠ملْكÙها ما زÙÙˆÙÙŠÙŽ لي منْها وأعطيت٠الْكنزين٠الأØمَرَ والأبيضَ وإنّÙÙŠ سألت٠ربّÙÙŠ لأمَّتي أن لا ÙŠÙهلÙكَها بسَنة٠عامَّة٠وأن لا يسلّÙØ·ÙŽ عليْهÙÙ… عدوًّا من سÙوى أنÙسÙهم ÙيستبيØÙŽ بيضَتَهم وإنَّ ربّÙÙŠ قالَ يا Ù…ÙØمَّد٠إنّÙÙŠ قضيت٠قضاءً Ùإنَّه٠لا ÙŠÙردّ٠وإنّÙÙŠ أعطيتÙÙƒÙŽ لأمَّتÙÙƒÙŽ أن لا Ø£ÙهلÙكَهم بسَنة٠عامَّة٠ولا أسلّÙØ·ÙŽ عليْهم عدوًّا من سÙوى أنÙسÙهم ÙيستبيØ٠بيضتَهم ولو٠اجتمعَ عليْهم Ù…ÙŽÙ† بأقطارÙها - أو قالَ من بينَ أقطارÙها - Øتّى يَكونَ بعضÙهم ÙŠÙهلÙك٠بعضًا ويسبي بعضÙهم بعضًا
'Indeed Allaah has spread the earth for me, I could see its east and west, and that my Ummah will reach where has been shown to me on earth. I have been gifted with two treasures: red and white. I beseeched my Lord for my Ummah that He should not destroy it with a general famine, and that He should not let their outside enemy have a upper hand on them save the inside enemy such that the outside enemy will annihilate them. My Lord said: O Muhammad indeed I have made My Decree that can never be upturned, I have (agreed) not let a general famine devastate your Ummah, and that I will not allow an outside enemy to have a upper hand on them such that they will annihilate them even if they were to gather around all the corners such enemy would rather turn on one another or hold one another as captives.' Saheeh at-Trimidhi 3172
And to the Jews, the Day is coming: the Messenger of Allaah said:
لا تقوم٠الساعة٠Øتى يقاتلَ المسلمون اليهودَ، ÙيقتلÙهم المسلمون، Øتى يختبيءَ اليهوديّ٠من وراء٠الØجر٠والشجرÙØŒ Ùيقول٠الØجر٠أو الشجرÙ: يا مسلم٠يا عبدَ الله٠هذا يهوديٌّ خلÙÙŠØŒ Ùتعالَ Ùاقْتلْه. إلا الغَرْقَدَ، Ùإنه من شجر٠اليهود.
'The Hour shall not come to pass until the Muslims shall fight the Jews, the Muslims shall kill them and the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees such the rock or tree will say: 'O Muslim, O slave of Allaah! This is a Jew behind him come and kill him.' Only the Tree of Gharqad will not (expose them) because it is a tree of the Jews.' Saheeh Al-Jaami 7437 said a lot.
With that, we come to the end of the narrative. May Allaah accept for His Face Alone. We also pray that Allaah free Palestine from the Zionists, and may He help the Muslims in their struggle against their enemy. May Allaah forgive the Muslims who have lost their lives in the struggle.
